ADR loading provision CV38
Asbestos container-bags: smooth inspected compartments, bags placed before filling, no lifting or transfer once loaded, decontaminate outsides.
Load compartments must have no sharp internal edges that could tear container-bags when unloading, and are inspected before each loading. Bags are placed in the compartment before filling, with the zipper slider at the front, and closed per the manufacturer. Once filled they are not lifted or moved to another compartment, and only one filled bag goes in a compartment. Outer bag surfaces are decontaminated after filling and closing. Bags in removable compartments are unloaded with the compartment on the ground; tipping is allowed for roadworks waste or asbestos-contaminated soil only under an unloading protocol agreed by carrier and consignee that prevents the bags falling or tearing.
Conditions
- No sharp internal edges; inspection before each loading.
- Bag placed before filling; zipper slider to the front; closed per manufacturer instructions.
- No lifting or transfer after loading; one filled bag per compartment.
- Decontaminate outer bag surfaces after filling and closing.
- Removable compartments unloaded on the ground.
- Tipping only for roadworks waste or contaminated soil, under an agreed unloading protocol.
