HIN X839 (orange plate): corrosive or slightly corrosive, flammable (flash-point 23-60 °C), violent-reaction risk, reacts dangerously with water.

Printed in the upper half of the orange-coloured plate above the UN number, X839 identifies a corrosive or slightly corrosive substance, flammable (flash-point 23 °C to 60 °C inclusive), able to lead spontaneously to a violent reaction, and that reacts dangerously with water. The leading X warns that the substance reacts dangerously with water, so water may be applied only with expert approval.
