ADR packing instruction LP02

Heading in ADR: “PACKING INSTRUCTION (SOLIDS)”

Solids in large packagings: glass, plastics, metal, paper or fibre inners in 50-series or 51H outers, packing group III only, up to 3 m3.

LP02 covers solids in large packagings under 4.1.1 and 4.1.3. Inner packagings may be glass up to 10 kg, or plastics, metal, paper or fibre up to 50 kg each. Outers are the rigid 50-series (50A, 50B, 50N, 50H, 50C, 50D, 50F, 50G) or flexible plastics 51H, which may hold flexible inner packagings only. Packing groups I and II are not allowed; packing group III goods may use up to 3 m3. Plastics, paper and fibre inners must be sift-proof, and paper and fibre inners are barred when the substance could liquefy in transit. L3 notes a sea ban for UN 2208 and 3486, and LL1 sets rules for large packagings carrying UN 3509.
