Articles containing dangerous goods (UN 3537-3548): drums, boxes, jerricans at PG II level, strong outer packagings or unpackaged for robust articles.

Covers UN 3537 to 3548. Receptacles inside the articles must be secured so they cannot break or leak, liquids must have closures correctly oriented and pass the 6.1.5.5 internal pressure test, fragile receptacles must be properly secured, gas receptacles must meet 4.1.6 and Chapter 6.2 or give protection equivalent to P200 or P208, and articles without a receptacle must fully enclose the substance. Articles must be packed to prevent movement and inadvertent operation. Articles containing prototype lithium or sodium ion cells or batteries, or low production runs of up to 100 untested cells or batteries, face extra rules in paragraph (5).
