ADR packing instruction P206
Heading in ADR: “P206 PACKING INSTRUCTION”
Chemicals under pressure (UN 3500-3505) in Chapter 6.2 cylinders or pressure drums: 5-year test period, 95 % fill at 50 °C, min 20 bar test.
Covers UN 3500 to 3505. Unless ADR says otherwise, cylinders and pressure drums meeting Chapter 6.2 may be used, with 4.1.6 applied and a maximum periodic test period of 5 years. The non-gaseous phase may fill no more than 95 % of water capacity at 50 °C, the receptacle may not be liquid-full at 60 °C, and the pressure at 65 °C may not exceed the test pressure, taking account of the vapour pressure and expansion of all components; a step-by-step calculation is given for liquids charged with compressed gas. The test pressure follows P200 for the propellant but is never below 20 bar. Receptacles may not be offered for carriage while connected to spray equipment such as a hose and wand.
