ADR packing instruction P406
Heading in ADR: “P406 PACKING INSTRUCTION”
Desensitized substances: water-resistant combination, lined single or plastics/metal packagings that keep the wetting agent in and cap pressure at 300 kPa.
Allows (1) combination packagings with water-resistant inners in the listed wooden, fibreboard, plastics, plywood or fibre outers; (2) plastics, plywood or fibre drums or boxes with a water-resistant inner bag, plastics lining or coating; and (3) metal or plastics drums and jerricans and 6H composite packagings. The packagings must keep in the water, alcohol or phlegmatizer content, and be built and closed so that no explosive overpressure or pressure build-up beyond 300 kPa (3 bar) can occur. General rules 4.1.1 and 4.1.3 apply.
