Organic peroxides (5.2) and self-reactive substances (4.1): packing methods OP1-OP8 set per-package quantity limits; metal only for OP7/OP8.
Covers Class 5.2 organic peroxides and Class 4.1 self-reactive substances, with 4.1.1, 4.1.3 and 4.1.7.1 applied. The packing method (OP1 to OP8) assigned in 2.2.41.4 or 2.2.52.4 sets the maximum quantity per package; combination packagings in the listed boxes, drums or jerricans, single drums and jerricans, and composite packagings with plastics inner receptacles may be used. Metal packagings (including inners and outers of combination or composite packagings) are allowed only for OP7 and OP8; glass may be used only as inner packagings of up to 0.5 kg or 0.5 litre; cushioning must not be readily combustible. Substances needing an EXPLOSIVE subsidiary hazard label must also meet 4.1.5.10 and 4.1.5.11. Viscous substances not meeting the liquid definition of 1.2.1 count as solids.

Conditions
- OP8 solids: 400 kg is allowed in combination packagings with wooden, plywood, reconstituted wood, fibreboard or plastics boxes and plastics or fibre inners of max 25 kg; otherwise 60 kg for jerricans and 200 kg for boxes.
- Metal packagings only for OP7 and OP8.
- Glass only as inner packagings, max 0.5 kg or 0.5 l.
