ADR packing instruction P906

Heading in ADR: “P906 PACKING INSTRUCTION”

PCBs and polyhalogenated substances/articles (UN 2315, 3151, 3152, 3432): P001/P002, leakproof oversize packagings, or a leakproof metal tray in the unit.

Covers UN 2315, 3151, 3152 and 3432. Liquids and solids go in packagings of P001 or P002 as appropriate. Transformers, condensers and other articles go either in P001 or P002 packagings with cushioning against movement, or in leakproof packagings able to hold 1.25 times the volume of the liquid PCBs or similar substances in them, with absorbent for at least 1.1 times that liquid; transformers and condensers should normally be in leakproof metal packagings of the same 1.25 capacity. Alternatively, unpackaged transformers and condensers and goods not packed to P001/P002 may travel in a cargo transport unit fitted with a leakproof metal tray at least 800 mm high containing inert absorbent for 1.1 times any free liquid. Transformers and condensers must be sealed against leakage, and packagings may exceed 400 kg net.
