ADR packing instruction P910
Heading in ADR: “P910 PACKING INSTRUCTION”
Lithium/sodium ion production runs of up to 100 and pre-production prototypes for testing: individually packed in insulated PG II packagings.
Covers UN 3090, 3091, 3480, 3481, 3551 and 3552 production runs of no more than 100 cells or batteries and pre-production prototypes carried for testing. (1) Cells and batteries, including when packed with equipment, go in removable-head drums, boxes or removable-head jerricans at packing group II performance; mixed sizes are allowed within the tested gross mass, each cell or battery is individually packed in an inner, surrounded by non-combustible, electrically non-conductive thermal insulation, cushioned against vibration and movement, and any cell or battery over 30 kg net travels one per outer. (2) Cells or batteries contained in equipment use the same packagings, with the equipment protected against accidental operation and cushioned. (3) Equipment or batteries may travel unpackaged only under conditions set by a competent authority of an ADR Contracting Party, which may also recognise approvals of non-Contracting countries granted under the corresponding rail, inland waterway, sea or air rules.
