ADR operation provision S21
Chapter 8.4 supervision for any mass, unless locked/protected and ≤ 5 µSv/h at the vehicle surface; security-plan supervision under 1.10.3.
Chapter 8.4 vehicle supervision applies to all this material whatever its mass. It may be dispensed with only when both the loaded compartment is locked or the packages are otherwise protected against illicit unloading, and the dose rate at every accessible point of the vehicle outer surface is at most 5 µSv/h. Goods subject to 1.10.3 must in addition be supervised at all times under the 1.10.3.2 security plan.
| Value | Applies when |
|---|---|
| any mass quantity | supervision threshold |
| 5 µSv/h | maximum dose rate at any accessible point on the vehicle outer surface for the exception |
Conditions
- (a) Loaded compartment locked or packages otherwise protected against illicit unloading; and
- (b) dose rate not above 5 µSv/h at any accessible point on the vehicle outer surface.
Note. The text layer prints the dose rate as "5Sv/h"; the micro sign is evidently lost in extraction (a 5 Sv/h limit would be implausible and the same extraction loses µ elsewhere, e.g. 7.5.11 CV33 (5.4)). Read as 5 µSv/h; confirm against the PDF.
