ADR special packing provision L2
Aerosol and gas cartridge large packagings must stop movement and discharge; waste ones under SP 327 need liquid retention and ventilation.
Under LP200 (UN 1950 aerosols and UN 2037 gas cartridges), the large packagings must be designed to prevent dangerous movement and accidental discharge in normal carriage. For waste aerosols carried under special provision 327 they must also have a way of holding any free liquid that leaks, such as absorbent material. For waste aerosols and waste gas cartridges under special provision 327 they must be ventilated well enough to avoid a dangerous atmosphere and pressure build-up.
Note. LP02 (page 155) also lists L2 but marks it "Deleted", so it has no effect there; the operative text is the LP200 one cited here. The source reads "was gas cartridges", evidently meaning waste gas cartridges. Comparable packaging provisions: PP87 (P207) and PP96 (P003).
Refers to: special provision 327.
