ADR special packing provision LL1

RID/ADR only: rules for large packagings carrying UN 3509 discarded empty uncleaned packagings.

For UN 3509 (packagings, discarded, empty, uncleaned) under LP02, the large packagings need not meet 4.1.1.3. They must meet 6.6.4 and be made leak tight or have a leak-tight, puncture-resistant sealed liner or bag. Flexible large packagings are allowed where residues are only solids that will not liquefy at likely carriage temperatures; liquid residues require rigid large packagings with a retention means such as absorbent. Each large packaging must be inspected before filling and handover and withdrawn if its strength is reduced (minor dents and scratches do not count). Large packagings for Class 5.1 residues must keep the goods from touching wood or other combustible material.
