ADR tank code P22DH(M)

ADR tank code for Class 2 gases: liquefied/dissolved gas tank, 22 bar, openings D, hermetically closed, suffix (M).

P22DH(M) is decoded part by part from the 4.3.3.1.1 table for Class 2 gases. Part 1 "P" is a tank, battery-vehicle or MEGC for liquefied or dissolved gases; part 2 "22" is minimum calculation pressure of 22 bar. Part 3 "D" (openings): tank filled or discharged from the top through openings having 3 closures; or a battery-vehicle/MEGC with nothing opening below the liquid surface. Part 4 "H" (safety valves/devices): the tank is hermetically closed (see 1.2.1). The "(M)" after the code means the gas may also go in battery-vehicles or MEGCs. The code gives the least stringent tank accepted; others may be used under the hierarchy in 4.3.3.1.2.
