Bromine UN 1744: hermetically sealed; canned glass inners (25 kg gross), metal/PVDF inners of 5 l (75 kg gross), drum-in-drum, or pressure receptacles.
Covers UN 1744; all packagings must be hermetically sealed. Options: (1) glass inners of up to 1.3 litres, filled to 90 % at most with secured closures, each in a metal or rigid plastics receptacle with absorbent cushioning, in listed outers, maximum gross mass 25 kg; (2) metal or PVDF inners of up to 5 litres, 90 % filled, with absorbent and inert cushioning, in listed outers up to 75 kg gross; (3) inner drums or composites (1A1, 1B1, 1N1, 1H1, 6HA1) of up to 125 litres, tested hydraulically at 300 kPa and for leaks at 30 kPa, cushioned inside steel or plastics outer drums, internally inspected and leak tested every two and a half years and marked with test dates and the expert identity; (4) pressure receptacles meeting 4.1.3.6, tested every 10 years at 1 MPa, inspected internally and leak tested every two and a half years, without relief device, with a plug or valve plus a secondary closure, and with compatible materials.
