ADR special provision 119
Refrigerating machines and components are outside ADR if they hold under 12 kg of group A or O gas or under 12 litres of ammonia solution.
Refrigerating machines cover machines and appliances built to keep food or other items cold in an internal compartment, plus air conditioning units; for carriage, heat pumps may be treated the same way. Such machines and their components are outside ADR when they contain less than 12 kg of a Class 2 gas of group A or O, or less than 12 litres of ammonia solution (UN 2672).
