ADR special provision 199
Lead compounds with 5 % or less solubility in the 0.07M HCl test (ISO 3711) count as insoluble and are outside ADR unless another class applies.
Test: one part compound to 1000 parts of 0.07M HCl, stirred one hour at 23 °C ± 2 °C (method per ISO 3711:1990); a solubility at or below 5 % makes the lead compound insoluble. Insoluble lead compounds fall outside ADR unless some other class applies to them.
| Value | Applies when |
|---|---|
| 5 % | maximum solubility to count as insoluble |
| 1:1000 ratio | compound to 0.07M hydrochloric acid |
| 23 °C ± 2 °C | test temperature, stirred one hour |
