ADR special provision 270
Water solutions of Class 5.1 inorganic solid nitrates fall outside Class 5.1 if at the coldest carriage temperature they are at most 80 % saturated.
Solutions in water of inorganic solid nitrates of Class 5.1 are treated as not meeting the Class 5.1 criteria when their concentration stays at or below 80 % of the saturation limit. The concentration is judged at the lowest temperature the solution will meet during the journey.
