Vehicles powered only by lithium or sodium ion batteries go to UN 3556/3557/3558; CTU-installed lithium batteries for external power go to UN 3536.
A vehicle powered solely by lithium metal, lithium ion or sodium ion batteries is assigned to UN 3556 (lithium ion), UN 3557 (lithium metal) or UN 3558 (sodium ion) as applicable. Lithium batteries installed in cargo transport units and designed only to supply power outside the unit are assigned to UN 3536, the entry for lithium ion or lithium metal batteries fitted in a cargo transport unit.
