ADR special provision 401

Sodium battery assignment: organic electrolyte to UN 3551/3552, aqueous alkali electrolyte to UN 2795, metallic sodium or sodium alloy to UN 3292.

Sodium ion cells and batteries with an organic electrolyte are carried as UN 3551 or UN 3552, as appropriate. Those with an aqueous alkali electrolyte go as UN 2795. Batteries containing metallic sodium or a sodium alloy go as UN 3292.
