ADR special provision 669
A trailer with fuel- or battery-powered equipment, carried as a load, goes under UN 3166, 3171, 3556, 3557 or 3558 if liquid fuel ≤ 500 l.
A trailer fitted with equipment running on liquid or gaseous fuel or on an electrical energy storage and generation system, meant to be used during carriage as part of a transport unit, is assigned to UN 3166, 3171, 3556, 3557 or 3558 as appropriate when it is itself carried as a load on a vehicle, and follows the conditions of that entry. This applies provided the liquid fuel tanks total 500 litres or less.
