ADR portable tank instruction T23

Heading in ADR: “PORTABLE TANK INSTRUCTION”

Portable tank rules for listed Class 4.1 self-reactive and Class 5.2 organic peroxide formulations: 4 bar test, extra 4.2.1.13 rules.

T23 covers Class 4.1 self-reactive substances and Class 5.2 organic peroxides, and only the formulations named in its table (under UN 3109, 3110, 3119, 3120, 3229, 3230, 3239 and 3240). The tank must meet 4.2.1, 6.7.2 and the added Class 4.1/5.2 rules of 4.2.1.13. For each listed entry the table sets a minimum test pressure of 4 bar, shell thickness per 6.7.2.4.2, bottom openings per 6.7.2.6.3, pressure relief per 6.7.2.8.2 together with 4.2.1.13.6 to 4.2.1.13.8, and degree of filling per 4.2.1.13.13. Temperature-controlled entries carry a control and an emergency temperature for each formulation, or ones approved by the competent authority. A formulation listed in T23 but absent from 2.2.41.4 or 2.2.52.4 may also travel packed under packing method OP8 of P520, keeping the same control and emergency temperatures.
