ADR packages provision V2

Class 1 packages may only travel on EX/II or EX/III vehicles meeting Part 9; the quantity carried decides which type is needed (7.5.5.2).

Explosive packages must be loaded only on EX/II or EX/III vehicles built to the Part 9 requirements. Which type is required follows from the quantity per transport unit allowed by the loading limits in 7.5.5.2. A transport unit combining an EX/II and an EX/III vehicle, both carrying explosives, is held to the EX/II quantity limit of 7.5.5.2.1 for the whole unit. Trailers (but not semi-trailers) that meet EX/II or EX/III requirements may be hauled by a motor vehicle that does not. For containers, 7.1.3 to 7.1.6 also apply. On the road leg of a multimodal journey to or from a port, rail terminal or airport, EX/II vehicles may replace the EX/III vehicles the quantity would otherwise require, if the containers meet the IMDG Code, RID or ICAO Technical Instructions.
