ADR special provision 196

Only non-explosive, thermally stable formulations (SADT 60 °C or more for 50 kg) may use this entry; others go to Class 5.2.

Formulations may use this entry if laboratory tests show they do not detonate in the cavitated state, do not deflagrate, show no effect on heating under confinement and have no explosive power. They must also be thermally stable, meaning a 50 kg package has an SADT of at least 60 °C. Any formulation that fails these tests must travel under the Class 5.2 rules.
