ADR special provision 553
This hydrogen peroxide/peroxyacetic acid mixture must show no explosive behaviour and SADT ≥ 60 °C (50 kg); otherwise it is Class 5.2.
In laboratory testing (Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part II, section 20) the mixture must not detonate in the cavitated state, must not deflagrate at all, must show no effect on heating under confinement and must have no explosive power. It must be thermally stable, with a self-accelerating decomposition temperature of 60 °C or more for a 50 kg package, and be desensitized with a liquid compatible with peroxyacetic acid. Formulations failing these criteria are treated as Class 5.2 (Manual, Part II, 20.4.3(g)).
