ADR bulk container code BK1

Bulk carriage in sheeted bulk containers is allowed for the substance, subject to Chapter 6.11 and 7.3.2.

BK1 in column (10) authorises carriage in bulk in sheeted bulk containers. The bulk container must comply with Chapter 6.11, and the general bulk rules of 7.3.1 apply as well. Class-specific limits follow in 7.3.2: Class 4.2 loads must keep the spontaneous ignition temperature above 55 °C, Class 4.3 needs waterproof containers, Class 5.1 must not touch wood or other incompatible material, Class 8 needs watertight containers, and Class 6.2 animal material and UN 3291 wastes have their own lists of conditions. For Class 6.2 animal material (UN 2814, 2900, 3373) sheeted containers must not be filled to capacity so the load stays off the sheet, and must carry an extra top liner weighted with disinfectant-treated absorbent.
