ADR tank code LGBV

ADR tank code for Classes 1 and 3–9: liquid tank, G (general minimum), openings B, valves/devices V.

LGBV is decoded part by part from the 4.3.4.1.1 table for Classes 1 and 3–9. Part 1 "L" is a tank for liquid-state substances (liquids, or solids handed over molten); part 2 "G" is minimum calculation pressure under the general requirements of 6.8.2.1.14. Part 3 "B" (openings): filling or discharge openings at the bottom, each with 3 closures. Part 4 "V" (safety valves/devices): the tank has a 6.8.2.2.6 breather device but no flame-propagation protection, or is not explosion-pressure-shock resistant. The code gives the least stringent tank accepted; others may be used under the hierarchy in 4.3.4.1.2.
