What ADR 2027 is

ADR, the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, is amended on a two-year cycle. The UNECE Working Party on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (WP.15) adopts the amendments, the depositary notifies them to the Contracting Parties, and they take effect on 1 January of the odd year as the next edition. The amendments that make ADR 2027 are set out in three UNECE documents: ECE/TRANS/WP.15/274, ECE/TRANS/WP.15/274/Add.1 and ECE/TRANS/WP.15/274/Corr.1.

This page lists what those documents change in Table A (Chapter 3.2), the table that gives every UN entry its class, classification code, packing group, labels, special provisions, limited and excepted quantities, transport category, tunnel restriction code and hazard identification number. It covers Table A only: other chapters of ADR 2027 change too, and a Table A entry with no change below can still be affected by them.

The changes in numbers

  • 223 Table A records in the amendment documents, on 188 UN numbers: 216 column changes, 6 new entries and 1 deleted entry.
  • 38 changes on the columns FreightUtils serves, on 23 UN numbers (from 40 amendment records).
  • 175 records on columns FreightUtils does not serve (packing, tank and carriage provisions), on 164 UN numbers.

What FreightUtils does

  • ADR 2025 remains the edition FreightUtils serves and the one that applies until ADR 2027 takes effect on 1 January 2027; after that, ADR 2025 may still be applied until 30 June 2027 (1.6.1.1).
  • On 1 January 2027 the served data switches to ADR 2027 in one release, rebuilt from the official ADR 2027 publication and checked against every change on this page: any difference without an amendment, or amendment without a difference, stops the switch.
  • From 1 January 2027 until 30 June 2027, every ADR answer carries a transitional notice that ADR 2025 may still be applied (1.6.1.1).
  • Until then, each UN page shows an ADR 2027 block: what changes for that entry, or that its Table A columns do not change.

How many Table A entries does ADR 2027 change?
The ADR 2027 amendment documents carry 223 Table A records on 188 UN numbers: 216 column changes, 6 new entries and 1 deleted entry. 38 of the changes land on columns FreightUtils serves, on 23 UN numbers; the other 175 records amend columns it does not serve, on 164 UN numbers.

Where do these values come from?
From the UNECE amendment documents ECE/TRANS/WP.15/274, ECE/TRANS/WP.15/274/Add.1, ECE/TRANS/WP.15/274/Corr.1, read mechanically, instruction by instruction, and replayed on the ADR 2025 values FreightUtils serves. Each change cites its document and PDF page. When the consolidated ADR 2027 publication is out, the served data is rebuilt from it and every difference is matched back to this list.
