ADR tank code L4DH
ADR tank code for Classes 1 and 3–9: liquid tank, 4 bar, openings D, hermetically closed.
L4DH is decoded part by part from the 4.3.4.1.1 table for Classes 1 and 3–9. Part 1 "L" is a tank for liquid-state substances (liquids, or solids handed over molten); part 2 "4" is minimum calculation pressure of 4 bar (see 6.8.2.1.14). Part 3 "D" (openings): filled and discharged from the top; nothing opens below the liquid surface. Part 4 "H" (safety valves/devices): the tank is hermetically closed (see 1.2.1). The code gives the least stringent tank accepted; others may be used under the hierarchy in 4.3.4.1.2.
